About the role
Are youpassionate about supporting young people's mental health andwellbeing? headspace Emerald is seeking a dedicated Mental HealthClinician to provide evidence-based care and empower young peoplethrough inclusive, youth-friendly practices.
What will a typical day look like?
- Promote and adhere to youth friendly practice principles.
- Monitor and conduct young people’s focused clinical assessment on headspaceEmerald’s young people and ascertain care plan of required needs.
- Deliver evidence-based early/brief intervention therapy, including group interventions and problem solving with young people and their families.
- Work collaboratively with the young person and their families to develop individual treatment plans that are person-centred and directed by the young person as much as possible.
- Provide an inclusive practice that values the significance of family and friends in a young person’s life.
Mandatory Requirements
- Psychologists who have full and current registration to practice with AHPRA and eligible and working towards membership of their relevant peak professional body (APS).
- Social Workers holding an approved Social Work Qualification (Bachelor/Master of Social Work) and who have both the following.
- Completed additional mental health specific training or endorsement in mental health.
- Eligibility, or are working towards membership with their Professional Body: - Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Occupational therapists who have full and current professional registration to practice with AHPRA, and who have completed additional mental health specific training or have endorsement in mental health.
- Division 1 Mental Health Nurses, who have completed additional training or who have relevant experience within mental Health e.g., with postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing.

Headspace is Australia’s National Young Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25-year-olds. What you will bring to the role?
- A passion and genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of Central Queenslanders.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- The ability to identify and embed solutions.
- Demonstrated experience working within a high-performance framework where you are accountable for KPIs on program delivery and outcomes, within a face-paced solutions focussed environment.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.
Other Requirements
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
- Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
