Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Technical Sourcer to join our dynamic Sourcing team. In this role, you will collaborate with other members of our Sourcing team and key stakeholders to develop and refine a strategic sourcing approach that attracts top technical experts. We are looking for someone passionate about creating exceptional candidate experiences, has a proven track record in recruiting top technical talent, and is excited to work collaboratively across various teams. Your efforts will ensure that only the most qualified candidates join our community.

Responsibilities:

- You will be responsible for developing and tuning a rigorous sourcing strategy designed to identify top software development experts and creating a stable pipeline of high-quality global talent.
- You will identify, reach out, and attract relevant professionals to drive the strategic growth of Toptal’s technical talent community by working closely with both the Matching team and the Screening team to figure out the dynamic sourcing priority.
- You will monitor and maintain a consistent pipeline of candidates.
- You will work with the Talent Acquisition Lead to grow sourcing operations, develop and implement process playbooks, and meet KPIs to seamlessly ensure efficient and scalable operations.
- You will use cutting-edge tools, internally developed, to supercharge your sourcing efforts.
In the first week, expect to:
- Onboard and integrate into Toptal.
- Undergo role-specific training including learning about the procedures and tools currently used within Toptal’s Sourcing team.
In the first month, expect to:
- Identify opportunities to successfully penetrate the global market for specific sourcing requests.
- Begin to outline the global talent sourcing strategy and test its assumptions through the creation of a strong candidate pipeline.
In the first three months, expect to:
- Build and refine a sourcing strategy by testing, capturing, and analyzing results, and implementing data-driven improvements.
- Establish and maintain a stable candidate pipeline that consistently yields high-revenue candidates who successfully pass the screening process and transition into client engagements.
In the first six months, expect to:
- Continue to fine-tune the sourcing strategy and consistently deliver results through identification of top global talent.
In the first year, expect to:
- Work together with a team of professionals and successfully run the sourcing efforts while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
- Fully own and be seen as the expert over all global sourcing management.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- 3+ years of experience sourcing or recruiting global technical talent with a proven track record of success.
- Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter is required, with experience using its advanced features for candidate research, outreach, and pipeline management.
- Thorough understanding of the global talent pool and global sourcing strategies.
- An unparalleled eye for talent and a strong understanding of the differences in knowledge and expertise between highly skilled developers and average talent.
- Ability to proactively find and assess meetup groups, attend events, and naturally network.
- Ability and drive to identify opportunities to present at developer meetups.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as perfect grammar and command of the English language.
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines while never sacrificing quality.
- Ability to communicate clearly and constantly with teams via Slack and other collaboration tools.
- Remote work experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and handle a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.

As Toptal’s VP of Talent Supply, Tyler is responsible for balancing talent supply and client demand in a cost-effective manner. Before Toptal, Tyler led the Supply Chain Systems and Automation team at SpaceX. He also implemented custom software and change management initiatives as a management consultant at Accenture. Tyler earned a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and a Master’s in Logistics and Supply Chain from the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program.
Carly Coleman
VP of Talent Matching and Success
After joining Toptal as VP of Talent Success in May of 2020, Carly Coleman moved to VP of Talent Matching and Success, where she is responsible for quickly and effectively matching talent from our global network with our client business needs. In addition, she oversees the end-to-end experience for our Toptal talent. Before Toptal, she was a strategy consultant at Bain & Company, then joined an e-commerce startup to lead retention marketing, and later, the direct-to-consumer business. Carly earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
