About the role

The Senior Intelligence Analyst applies expertise in making assessments and predictions to support decision making through a variety of tasks from tactical intelligence functions to strategic reporting on threats and challenges to NSW Police Force.

Strategic intelligence is future focused. As an analyst, you have the ability to influence decisions that are made at the highest level of the force. In comparison to other roles, strategic intelligence provides experience on a variety of crime types working collaboratively with both specialist and field based Commands across the NSWPF. To excel in this role you will require excellent research, writing and data analysis (excel) capability and be able to apply them in a practical intelligence setting.

This Talent Pool is being created for future Ongoing or Temporary roles that may arise over the next 18 months.

Placement in the Talent Pool remains valid for 18 months. There is no guarantee of employment as a result of this Talent Pool.

You must also address each of the following Target Questions (300 word limit per question) in the text boxes provided in the online application or attach as a separate document.

Target Question 1:

Strategic intelligence requires proactivity and an analyst’s ability to identify issues that have implications for the community and organisation. Using an example, describe an issue you have identified, raised and developed into an intelligence product. Explain how you communicated your findings to the audience.

Target Question 2:

Describe a time you have critically analysed information to inform high level decision making. What analysis tools did you use to inform your assessment and how did you communicate your findings?

Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check and obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.

Total Remuneration Package: Base salary ranges from $99,938 to $110,271 plus employer's contribution to superannuation of 12% and annual leave loading.
