Responsibilities

- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine dimensions, materials, and installation procedures.
- Order, prepare, and select timbers and other materials with precision.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and related materials using both hand and power tools.
- Construct framework, roof framing, sub-flooring, and floorboards to meet structural requirements.
- Install doors, windows, frames, flooring, and decorative finishes.
- Fit exterior wall cladding, nail fascia panels, and sheath roofs.
- Assemble and install wooden structures and fittings.
- Construct concrete formwork as needed.
- Cut and shape joints for assembling wooden structures and fittings.
- Perform renovations and repairs on existing structures and fittings.
- Work with diverse materials, including wood, plywood, wallboard, laminates, perspex, and metals.
- Ensure all carpentry work complies with building codes and safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and team members to complete projects on time.

Qualifications & Experience

- AQF Certificate III in Carpentry + minimum 1 year of on-the-job training, OR AQF Certificate IV in Carpentry (or related field).
- Proven experience as a Carpenter.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, construction methods, and materials.
- Skilled in safe and effective use of various hand and power tools.
- Flexible to work on a rotating roster and adaptable to project requirements.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
