About the role
We are looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst to work closely with the business supporting reporting, business insights and analysis workstreams for the Integrated Gas division to the IG business, Origin Corporate and APLNG Corporate office and shareholders. This role provides a great opportunity for senior leadership exposure, allowing you to share the data story and journey to key stakeholders in the business. You’ll also collaborate with the broader team, enhancing your skills in planning and strategic decision‑making. Your responsibilities will include:
More about the role:
Lead analysis and provide insight into Integrated Gas financial performance, focusing on key metrics like cost per GJ, earnings, cash flow, and capex.
Lead in the preparation and presentation of reports and analysis for Origin/APLNG Board and corporate reports.
Contribute to the quarterly forecast and budget process across the Integrated Gas division, including 2‑year consolidated planning for Upstream Operator
Collaborate with the IG Performance Team for quarterly and bi‑annual external reporting to Investor Relations.
Build strong relationships with asset and finance teams, promoting finance ownership and accountability.
Challenge and collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive change and identify business opportunities.
Contribute to the development and improvement of reporting, analysis and processes.

To excel in this position, you will possess a strong understanding of accounting standards and practices, coupled with the ability to work effectively with other Finance teams to deliver a seamless and comprehensive final product. You should demonstrate the ability to learn swiftly and be an effective team player. Additionally, you must be capable of comprehending complex business drivers and translating them into insightful reporting and analysis. You will also demonstrate:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills to ensure deadlines are achieved
Ability to show initiative and work independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – persuasion, delegation and leadership
A commitment to achieving end results and resolving obstacles
Demonstrated experience in reporting/analysis activities in a complex organisation
5+ years experience in the energy industry and/or experience working in a large accounting firm
Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Economics or Business
CA/ and or CPA qualification
