- Be a part of change and support children in their foster care placements
- Find your place to belong with a team that values you and all you bring
- Pay less tax and increase your take-home pay with generous salary packaging
So many lives. So many ways. One you.
50,000 lives and counting.
That’s how many South Australians our people support each year.
As one of the state’s leading not-for-profits, we’re making a meaningful impact at scale. From foster care to aged care and everything in between, our services are as diverse as the people and communities we serve - and we’re growing our reach for the future.
It takes a special kind of person to work in this sector. Someone with real compassion and care. Could that person be you?
Join us as a Placement Support Worker, and be part of something bigger.
What you’ll do
Are you passionate about creating positive change in the lives of children and young people in Out of Home Care? We are looking for a compassionate practitioner to join our Northern Foster Care team on an ongoing basis.
In this rewarding role, you'll play a key part in a multidisciplinary care team, supporting children, young people and Foster Carers, while working alongside AnglicareSA's Child Protection and Out of Home Care programs, the Department of Child Protection and other professionals.
You will draw on your cultural humility, trauma-informed practice, and knowledge of child development to promote safe healing and culturally responsive environments that support children and young people to thrive.
You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:
- Working as part of a supportive team of Placement Support Workers and Cultural and Therapeutic Practitioners to deliver services to children, young people and their Carer's in the northern metro and outer regions of Adelaide.
- Using assessment and planning skills to coordinate strengths-based, trauma-informed support for children and carers.
- Embedding cultural awareness and sensitivity into all aspects of your work, particularly in supporting First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse children and young people.
What you’ll bring
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work.
- Demonstrated experience working with families, children and young people in a community services setting.
- Sound understanding of the Child Protection and Out of Home Care systems and relevant legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with a collaborative approach.
We would also love you to have:
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, particularly Afghan communities.
- Fluency in Farsi or Dari, which will be highly regarded to support meaningful engagement with clients.
Why AnglicareSA?
Your contribution here matters. We want you to see your impact every day, and we want you to feel valued for it.
Here’s what you can expect in your career at AnglicareSA:
