APS 6 - ACTSS Training Systems Project Manager
- $95,187 - $108,734 + 10% BDCP + up to 15.4% Superannuation

The Role
The Aviation C4ISREW (Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare), Training and Support Systems Management Unit (ACTSS MU), is responsible for a range of support, sustainment, and operational contracts. The Project Manager will work within a small team to maintain current common Army Aviation systems under the CA64 product line, as well as manage the development of new contracts for current and future system upgrades and replacements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting common ground and air training devices.
- Overseeing upgrades, replacements, and sustainment of new and existing training systems.
- Providing project management for systems such as Helicopter Underwater Escape Trainer (HUET) and Complete Aircrewman Training Systems (CATS).
- Ensuring training systems are delivered with appropriate consideration for sustainment and integration into the broader Army Aviation system.
- Supporting the Capability Manager by assuring delivery quality and system readiness.
- Working collaboratively within a small, high-performing team.
- On-site work is required for this role.
Additional remuneration and security clearances
This role requires candidates to be able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance, however may commence at a Baseline Security clearance level.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

The Aviation C4ISREW Training and Support Systems Management Unit (ACTSS MU) is a specialist team within the Utility Helicopter Systems Program Office (UHSPO). The ACTSS MU team is responsible for the management, delivery and sustainment of a range of cross-platform, cross-functional and common aviation systems supporting the aviation capability as a whole. The ACTSS MU team is located in South East Queensland, with offices at Victoria Barracks Brisbane and Swartz Barracks, Oakey.

- Experience in Contract Management within an Aviation project.
- An ability to interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in identifying and implementing timely outcome-based solutions to complex problems.
- An ability to work independently and also as a team player in a dynamic team environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and people skills.
- A good level of computer literacy including with inventory management systems.
- An ability to work within, and manage a wide stakeholder group.
- An ability to manage a small team, providing coaching and mentoring.
- An ability to travel inter and intra state for contract meetings.
