Via this pathway, we have been able to support many international graduates in completing their Australian Fellowship or gaining experience as part of overseas training requirements. In this role, you will work in multidisciplinary teams across a range of stimulating settings, including inpatient, community and subspecialty rotations. Our service is undergoing an exciting phase of expansion and diversification, as we grow to meet the needs of Melbourne’s burgeoning western suburbs. As a Psychiatry registrar with Western Health, you will make a meaningful difference to the lives of people experiencing mental health difficulties, while also building the foundations for your own career in Psychiatry. Key responsibilities - Provision of high‑quality standards of patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for care in collaboration with multidisciplinary team. - Accept accounting for own actions and seeking guidance if situations exceed the scope of practice of an Unaccredited Registrar. - Attend training/educational activities including Grand Rounds, Colloquia and other local training opportunities. - Attend weekly clinical supervision sessions. - Provide clinical support for other Unaccredited Registrars where required due to workload or unforeseen circumstances. - Complete a preference form to identify preferred positions, considered in conjunction with training needs and service requirements. Participate in ongoing assessment of competencies via college assessment forms. About you - Eligible for AHPRA Limited Registration for Postgraduate training. - Eligible for the Specialist or SST Pathway with RANZCP. - Achieved a high standard on English language testing (e.g., IELTS >8 band score or equivalent). Given the need for high proficiency of English in psychiatric practice.
