Location: Sydney, Australia. Sector: IT. Salary: $77,000.00 to $82,000.00 per annum.

The role involves inspecting, testing, repairing, and configuring IT equipment to ensure quality and functionality, performing data sanitisation to protect privacy, installing and troubleshooting hardware and software systems, and providing basic network setup and connectivity support to maintain smooth operations.

Responsibilities

IT Equipment Inspection & Quality Check

- Perform detailed inspection, testing, and rechecking of used IT assets including laptops, desktops, monitors, hard disks, and tablets using appropriate tools.
- Identify and resolve hardware issues to ensure all devices meet operational and quality standards before reuse or resale.

Hardware & Software Troubleshooting

- Diagnose and troubleshoot system failures, bugs, and software/hardware-related issues.
- Install and configure operating systems, drivers, and essential software applications.

Computer Setup & Configuration

- Assemble, install, and configure computer hardware, software, and peripherals based on user or office requirements.
- Ensure proper functionality of all installed systems and drivers.

Data Sanitization & Security

- Perform secure data wiping and hard disk sanitization using appropriate tools to ensure data privacy and compliance with security standards.

Networking & Connectivity Support

- Set up and configure local area networks (LANs), internet connections, and shared devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic network and connectivity issues to ensure seamless operation.

Qualifications & Experience

- Candidate must have at least a Diploma or Bachelor degree in IT.
- Hands-on practice of at least 1 to 3 years.
- A strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and configuring IT equipment, with excellent problem-solving abilities and hands-on experience in hardware and software support.
- Proven experience in IT support, hardware testing, or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of computer components, operating systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with secure data erasure methods and tools.
- Good understanding of networking basics (LAN, routers, switches).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team when needed.
