Job Description
Gameloft is looking for a Senior Game Designer
As a Senior Game Designer, you will play a vital role within our game development team, working closely with the Lead Designer and Creative Director. Your responsibilities will include leading design efforts and collaborating with various stakeholders to create innovative and immersive gaming experiences. You will be responsible for designing gameplay mechanics, systems, levels, and overall player progression. Your expertise and leadership will drive the creative vision and ensure the successful implementation of game design concepts. From the beginning of your journey with us, you will:
- Champion the game pillars to the team and partners.
- Show great initiative and ownership over all design aspects and the overall execution of the game vision.
- Design fun and immersive gameplay mechanics, systems, and features to execute the game vision.
- Understand the specific considerations of designing for a multi-platform open-world title, with experience in live service or early access development.
- Experience with quest implementation, with a focus on reinforcing a clear player fantasy.
- Maintain strong communication with different department leads.
- Review deliverables (eg. design documents, the game builds) and be able to provide considered, constructive and prioritised feedback.
- Present and promote design solutions effectively to peers and management.
- Engage in ideation processes under constraints (time, IP, game type).
- Produce game pitches/presentations for new and existing IPs for a multi-disciplinary production team.
- Mentor junior and mid-level members of the Design team.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in design roles with successful multi-platform titles.
- Considerable professional game design experience within an established studio – including the release of multiple titles. live service, or premium.
- Console/PC, VR and mobile game development experience are all valuable.
- Ability to communicate feedback to development teams.
- Proactive, enthusiastic team player comfortable working within a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary team in a senior role.
- Passionate about games, design, and technology - with a forward-thinking approach.
