- Unleash your creativity and inspire the next generation
- Part-time (0.8 FTE), ongoing position
- Join a vibrant, forward-thinking educational environment
About the Role
The Primary School Visual Art Teacher has a responsibility to the Head of Primary to model and uphold the purpose and values of the School, both within the classroom and as an active member of the broader school community. In partnership with the Academic Team, the Visual Art Teacher will design and deliver a dynamic and inspiring academic programme that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and the pursuit of excellence, enabling each student to realise their unique potential.
As part of the Primary School, the Visual Art Teacher plays a crucial role in the holistic development of students. This responsibility extends beyond academic learning to include active engagement in the School’s pastoral care system, the co-curricular programme, and the cultural and spiritual life of the School. Participation in each of these areas is considered an essential expectation of the role, reflecting the School’s commitment to developing well-rounded, compassionate, and resilient learners.
The Visual Art Teacher will create opportunities for students to explore and express themselves through a variety of artistic media, techniques, and styles. By combining the teaching of essential content, knowledge, and skills with an inquiry‑driven process of learning, they will help students to make meaningful connections between art, personal identity, and the world around them. Lessons will be designed to encourage curiosity, problem‑solving, and innovation while building confidence in both individual and collaborative artistic practice.
Through their passion, expertise, and commitment, the Primary School Visual Art Teacher will inspire students to discover their artistic voice, to take risks in their learning, and to recognise the value of creativity as an essential part of their personal and academic growth.
