Salary: Level 3, $146,538 - $158,598 per annum (pro‑rata) (SEA GA 2023)

Location: Ngaanyatjarra Lands School, Seven remote community campuses (Wanarn, Wingellina and others as required)

About the Role

The role is to serve as Campus Principal across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands School network. The Principal will provide classroom support teaching part‑time, oversee a rigorous learning program based on the WA Curriculum, link local context with curriculum content, and lead in the Two‑Way Science program and Big Picture Education. The Principal will develop and implement operational plans, manage campus operations, support teaching staff, and foster relations with local Aboriginal Yarnangu staff.

The role requires cross‑cultural skills, strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities, and a capacity to work flexibly in remote settings. The Principal will collaborate with the school leadership team and the community, ensuring students’ engagement and cultural safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of education for all students within the community.
• Manage resources provided by the Department of Education and the school community.
• Engage with students, parents/carers and community members to develop cultural safety and well‑being.
• Support the development of teaching staff, particularly local Aboriginal Yarnangu staff.
• Embed Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework values and actions across all aspects of school management.
• Participate in the Fogarty Edvance program and contribute to the school’s strategic vision.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience in secondary education.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑cultural teams and work effectively with Indigenous communities.

• Knowledge of WA Curriculum, Two‑Way Science program and Big Picture Education principles.

• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
