Job Details

Job Title: Accredited Social Work Practitioner – Malanda, Queensland.

Job Type: Permanent – Part-Time. Hours Negotiable (3-4 days per week).

Practice Information

This private practice was established in 2006 in Cairns and relocated to Malanda on the Atherton Tablelands in 2019. Since then, the practice has established an excellent reputation across the Tablelands for providing mental health social work to children, teens and adults within their community.

Responsibilities

- Provide psychological therapies to children, teens and adults offering a range of therapeutic modalities.
- Work within referrals accepted by the practice: independently, via GP MHCP Referrals and via NDIS.
- Collaborate with a team of senior Social Work Practitioners (three Social Workers, two with AASW Mental Health Accreditation).

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Social Work Practitioner
- Mental Health Accreditation or working towards completing Accreditation in 2025 is required.

- Practice accepts referrals for people of all ages across multiple referral pathways.

About Malanda

The practice is located at Malanda, a regional town on the Atherton Tablelands of Far North Queensland. Malanda has a general population of approximately 2000 people with health services, wellness facilities, gyms, shopping and cafes. Nearby attractions include the Atherton Tablelands Waterfall Trail and hiking/mtb tracks. Atherton is about 15 minutes away and Cairns about 1.2 hours away by car.
