Secondary TAS Teacher

Overview

Wyong Christian Community School is a wonderful school with a fantastic community. Set on 28 acres in a beautiful rural setting, we have been building God’s Kingdom for 32 years. Applications are invited from a qualified Secondary TAS (Technological and Applied Studies) Teacher with a strong commitment to Christian Education. We are seeking to engage a skilled and dedicated educator who inspires students to achieve their God-given potential in the practical and creative disciplines of TAS. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative and innovative learning environment, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and design skills in our students. This position is open to teachers from a range of TAS teaching backgrounds.

Commencement Date: Term 1 2026

Permanent Position: Full-time (with the option of Part-time negotiable)

Selection Criteria / Qualifications

- affirm a personal belief in the school’s Statement of Faith, as well as active involvement within their local church;
- display a high standard of competency, proficiency and innovation within the classroom, empowering students to creatively express themselves;
- provide evidence of exemplary teaching skills together with sound curriculum knowledge from Stage 4 to Stage 6;
- be an effective and reflective practitioner who displays strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- be committed to pedagogical advancement in their classroom; and
- demonstrate strong administrative skills, with high flexibility and adaptability.
- confidently use digital tools, integrating a variety of computing, digital design and software applications to enhance curriculum delivery.

Desirable to have

- the ability and desire to teach across a range of TAS subjects;
- experience and/or a passion to teach in the areas of Materials, Design and Technology, Computing Multimedia, Industrial Technology, Engineering Studies;
- an understanding of Explicit Instruction;
- an interest and capacity to teach in the TAS VET framework in the future.
