About us
At the Victorian Department of Health we want a future where Victorians are the healthiest people in the world. A Victoria where our children and people thrive, our workplaces are productive and safe, and our communities are more connected.
We see it as our job to support Victorians to stay healthy and safe. And to deliver a world-class healthcare system that ensures every single Victorian can access safe, quality care that leads to better health outcomes for all.
About you
The Department of Health is seeking a capable and motivated PCMS Functional Support Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide expert support for the Patient Client Management System (PCMS), ensuring operational effectiveness and contributing to continuous improvement in health service delivery.
As a key member of the team, you will apply a systems-thinking approach to understand how PCMS integrates with broader departmental objectives and processes. You'll be instrumental in identifying opportunities to enhance system performance, improve service outcomes, and support ongoing innovation.
We're looking for someone who can lead by example—building strong team cohesion, delegating appropriately, and ensuring your team has the resources and clarity needed to succeed. You will work collaboratively across teams and functions, using your leadership to bring together the right people to solve complex issues and deliver results.
Service excellence is at the core of this role. You will take responsibility for resolving issues promptly, actively seek feedback from stakeholders, and make meaningful changes to improve quality and timeliness of services. A focus on client and stakeholder satisfaction is essential.
To be successful, you must demonstrate sound problem-solving skills—gathering and analysing information from multiple sources, engaging with stakeholders to fully understand issues, and proposing practical, effective solutions.
If you're passionate about contributing to a better healthcare system and thrive in a collaborative, high-performing environment, we encourage you to apply.
Mandatory
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to Information Technology or relevant experience in the Health Information Technology sector.
- A strong understanding of the Victorian Health Sector concepts including statutory reporting, patient administration, and hospital information systems and workflows.
On a personal level, the candidate will be a collaborative team player who shows respect for others and works effectively with diverse styles. They will have strong attention to detail, demonstrate integrity and accountability, and use their analytical and conceptual skills to approach complex problems with creativity and sound judgment.
What we offer
- The opportunity to perform meaningful work, making direct contributions toward enabling Victorians to be the healthiest people in the world.
- A wide range of growth and development opportunities within the department and wider Victorian Public Service & Sector.
- A strong commitment to work-life balance, including a diverse array of flexible working arrangements.
