Urgent Teacher/Educator – 2026

Our peaceful Community Kindergarten in Auchenflower is looking for a Teacher/Educator for 2026.
We are a single unit Community Kindergarten with one group of 24, three and four year old children. The children attend from 8am to 3.30pm on Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday with an optional Wednesday.
About the Role:
- Full time 5 days a week or part time for the right candidate
- Hours 8am-4pm or 7.30am-3pm including a paid lunch time taken with the children
- An opportunity to join an established community-run Kindergarten with an Exceeding rating
- Working in a beautiful Montessori environment which is respectful, calm and friendly
- Paid school holidays (work school terms only with two pro‑ratio preparation days in each holiday)
- Over ratio with 3 educators for 24 children
Key Selection:
- Relevant Early Childhood qualification
- Montessori Diploma or willing to study towards
- Ability to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card for a Queensland Early Childhood Education service
- First Aid Certification
- A willingness to work as a reliable, positive, and collaborative team member
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to children, families and colleagues with kindness, warmth, and respect.
- Ability to remain calm, caring, consistent and professional with children and their families
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Work in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard, Lady Gowrie Community Kindergarten Policies and Procedures
- Prepare the environment, create, and maintain activities and materials
- Support the children’s independence
- Keep the environment in good order and clean
- Report to the centre Director who is also the ECT and Educational Leader
