24 month appointment pool with 1 immediate full-time vacancy available for 24 months. We are establishing an appointment pool for vacancies that arise up to 24 months from the first appointment. Appointments may be made on a full-time, part-time, casual, permanent or fixed-term basis with possible further term and/or permanency. Suitable candidates will be placed in the appointment pool from which opportunities may be offered as vacancies arise. Candidates may also be considered for similar positions within South Metropolitan TAFE as they arise during the life of the pool. If the appointment pool is exhausted prior to the pool expiry date, we reserve the right to supplement the pool through further advertising.

About the role

The lecturer's primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities (PA) and Activities Related to Delivery (ARD). In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.

Minimum qualifications and experience: To be successful in this role you will have a Certificate III Carpentry and Joinery. The successful applicant will also have at least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position with an ability to facilitate and encourage learning. There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 (or successors). The current minimum qualification required is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011 or TAESS00019 or TAESS00024). Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply; successful candidate must be enrolled and have commenced training in an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable completion within two years from commencement.
