The Role: The Subscriber Technician is responsible for the configuration, testing, and maintenance of radio communication equipment within a managed services network. This hands‑on role involves programming and quality assurance of subscriber devices, coordinating equipment logistics, and providing field support to customers across Victoria.

The Responsibilities:

- Configure, program, and test subscriber equipment: Program, configure, and perform quality assurance testing on radios, mobile data, and video equipment in accordance with the organisation’s procedures and standards.

- Maintain asset and configuration records: Update relevant systems and databases when equipment configurations or asset movements occur, ensuring accurate tagging, tracking, and documentation.

- Coordinate logistics and equipment handling: Manage deliveries, RMAs, stocktakes, and dispatch/receiving of subscriber equipment, liaising with customers, subcontractors, and freight providers.

- Perform repairs and technical support: Diagnose faults, conduct minor repairs, and support field installations or deinstallations to maintain high service reliability across customer sites.

- Ensure service quality and compliance: Meet subscriber‑related KPIs and SLAs, follow quality policies, and contribute to process improvements to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Skills & Experience Required:

- Demonstrated 5 years’ experience as a Subscriber Technician working with radio communications or electronic equipment, including programming, testing, and fault diagnosis.

- Sound knowledge of RF principles, electronics, and IT systems, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and use diagnostic tools.

- Proven ability to manage equipment logistics and asset records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established processes.

- Strong communication and coordination skills, with experience liaising with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

- A proactive approach to quality assurance and continuous improvement, ensuring service standards, KPIs, and SLAs are consistently met.
