About the role

The principal role of the Senior Case Manager in Care Services is to case manage and support children, young people and their families. The Senior Case Manager will also support the team leader to mentor new and existing staff to develop their skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

About You

- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, with a commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.

- Understanding of the Aboriginal Kinship and KITH system and the Aboriginal Placement Principles

- Experience working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children

- Ability to advocate for Aboriginal children and communicate in a culturally appropriate and respectful way

- Demonstrated experience or knowledge in child, youth and family welfare

- Ability to case manage needs and formulate recommendations focused on child safety, family functioning, and parental well-being

Requirements

- Certificate, Diploma or Degree qualification in Community Services, Youth Case Management and/or Social Worker

- Minimum 4 years’ experience in child, youth and family welfare experience

- Valid Police Check, Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
