This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026

The Lead Education Assistant (EA) works closely with the Inclusive Learning leadership team - particularly the Program Coordinator – Inclusive Learning (PCIL) and Student Services to provide coordinated case management for students with a diagnosed disability (as per the school’s Individual Disability Allocation) and Tier 3 students at educational risk. You should bring a solutions-focused and student-centred approach to all tasks, consulting with school-based staff to develop and implement strategies to assist teachers to deliver high quality learning programs, leading to improved educational outcomes for students. Additionally, you will form part of the student services team and will contribute to critical incident support, remaining calm in an emergency.

The LeadEA leads, mentors, coaches and models high-quality practice for EAs, buildingtheir capability through targeted professional learning. They coordinate EA deployment, timetables, rosters and relief, and the operational day-to-day coordination of the team sits with them in partnership with the PCIL. When required, the Lead EA may perform the duties of an EA(Special Needs) Level 3.

The Lead EAsupports whole-school coordination, collection and reporting of data, including maintenance of the Learning Support Master List, NCCD processes, adjustments to formal timed assessments (e.g. NAPLAN), EA team structures, and Therapy/Visiting Teacher scheduling. Proficiency with school-based IT tools (Compass, SIS and Office 365), strong organisational skills and the ability to self-manage and prioritise are important. Experience supporting students with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (inclusive of PDA profiles) and severe mental health diagnoses is highly desirable. The EA team currently comprises approximately 15 Allied Professionals and, since 2024, operates within a tiered Learning Area model designed to maximise efficacy and impact.

- Demonstrated well developed written communication skills, including report writing, and the ability to coordinate, collect and present student data at a whole school community level in a meaningful way.
- Demonstrated well developed organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate staff rosters and relief to assist in the delivery of effective education programs.
