Due to strong growth and increasing demand, we’re seeking a qualified and experienced Security System & Video Technician to join our team based in Torrensville, SA.
About the Role
You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a range of electronic security systems including alarms, CCTV, IP cameras, and access control systems. You’ll work closely with our licensed electricians, engineers, and clients to ensure high-quality, compliant installations that meet AG Security Group’s professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend all scheduled appointments at client sites to conduct installations of security products and services, primarily alarm, CCTV, IP Camera, access control systems
- Conduct all required pre-wiring and mounting of devices, programming, commissioning and testing, as well as system interfacing
- Adhere to all Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, regulations, codes of practice, standards, company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs)
- Apply all new AG Security Group safety stickers and signs at all new installations/client sites
- Adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn or defective parts and wiring, and maintaining machines, equipment and instruments
- Commission and test systems to diagnose faults
- Applying knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic principles in commissioning and maintaining control systems
- Run, connect, and terminate low-voltage cabling (CAT5/6, coaxial, and fibre optic)
- Set up and program DVR/NVR systems, IP cameras, and alarm panels
- Perform routine inspections, servicing, and maintenance of electronic security systems
- Diagnose and repair faults, including connectivity or hardware issues
- Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications to carry out installations
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and client requirements
- Provide training and support to end-users on system operations
- Maintain accurate records and complete job reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation
- Replace and repair defective parts, cabling, and equipment components
- Monitor and interpret communication systems (e.g., radio or coded signals)
- Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic systems during installation and troubleshooting
About You
You are a hands-on technician with strong technical aptitude and a passion for delivering reliable, high-quality work. You take pride in your attention to detail and can confidently collaborate with clients and team members.
Requirements
- Certificate IV (or higher) in Electronics or Electrical Systems (or equivalent).
- Minimum 1 year full-time post-qualification experience.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation.
- Punctual, reliable, and safety-focused.
- Must have the right to work in Australia.
- Registration/licensing not required (you’ll work under supervision of a licensed electrician).
