At Swyftx, we're on a mission to build a more open and accessible financial system, one that empowers the next generation of wealth builders, savers, borrowers, and businesses. With over 1.2 million business and retail clients, we've grown into one of APAC's leading digital asset platforms, and now we're taking things further by bridging the worlds of crypto and traditional finance. If you're excited by big challenges, real impact, and a team that does things differently — you'll fit right in.

Swyftx is seeking an AML Officer to join our Financial Crime Team. This is a crucial role where you will be responsible for protecting the company from financial crime and the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing. You will work with the Financial Crime Team to proactively identify and prevent financial crime while continuously seeking ways to improve processes and mitigate potential risks.

Key Responsibilities

- Investigate and monitor suspicious customer accounts and transactions to identify potential or actual cases of money laundering and terrorism financing (ML & TF)
- Use blockchain analysis technology (Chainalysis) to review incoming and outgoing crypto risk exposure.
- Help maintain the ML & TF detection rules to ensure that alert volumes are efficient and fit-for-purpose.
- Communicate with customers about compliance issues.
- Collaborate with other members of the AML team on a rotating roster to cover any ML & TF issues on weekends and public holidays.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, such as banks and law enforcement, when necessary.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of AML initiatives across Swyftx.
- Support the training of new team members.
- Maintain detailed records of investigations and reporting for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Take ownership of SMR reporting related to ML & TF activity, ensuring reports are completed in a timely manner and actioned correctly according to AUSTRAC guidelines.

What we're looking for:

- Experience in a customer service/support environment is required
- Experience in ML/TF prevention, detection, or investigation is highly regarded
- An understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review data and transactions.
- Critical thinking skills, adaptability to fast-changing environments, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and make well-informed decisions
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding organisational and time management abilities

Some of our perks and benefits include:

- Fully stocked kitchen, breakfast and lunch foods, unlimited fresh fruit and snacks.
- An inhouse barista and weekly catered lunches on a Wednesday.
- Unlimited fee-free trading.
- Career growth, training, mentorship, and development opportunities.
- Social activities, game breaks and end of month awards.

At Swyftx, we're not just building a diverse and dynamic environment; we're celebrating it. We value and embrace the unique experiences, qualities, and characteristics that each member of our team brings, and we're committed to cultivating an inclusive workspace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to do their best work.
