Workforce Extensions Footscray, our valued client is seeking a professional, quality and focused experienced Shipping Container Surveying Supervisor to join their growing team based in Laverton North.

Are you an experienced tradesperson with a background in metalwork and a keen eye for detail?

Do you thrive in a role that combines hands-on work with technical assessment?

As a Shipping Container Surveying Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring our shipping containers meet stringent safety and quality standards. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and quoting repair needs, managing workflows, and ensuring equipment is ready for hire or sale. Previous experience in shipping container surveying or repair is preferred, though not essential. Your metal trade background and problem-solving skills are what we value most

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Lead a small team of surveyors to carry out container surveying on shipping lines' and leasing companies' containers.
- Inspect and assess a variety of containers received at our site as per our customer criteria.
- Communicate with shipping lines' and leasing companies' clients on repair estimations.
- Take photographs of container damages.
- Produce repair estimates according to the inspection and as per our customer criteria.
- Using a handheld device, submit repair estimates in Container Chain operating system within customer required time frames.
- Carry out minor repairs and blow outs.

About You

- Previous experience in shipping containers surveying on both dry and reefer containers.
- Knowledge of shipping companies and leasing companies' inspection and repair criteria and procedure is a must.
- Familiar with IICL Equipment Code Standard.
- IICL certificate preferred but not essential.
- Experience using handheld devices and the Container Chain operating system preferred.
- Ability to lead and work well within a small team environment.
