Bupa Ballina is a beautiful care home set in the scenic seaside town of Ballina on the North Coast of NSW. Located near the airport and beaches, this care home provides an awesome tropical landscape. It consists of 123 beds, with a variety of care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents. Part Time positions available to suit your lifestyle
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Be the fun facilitator: You'll help residents explore their interests, both within the care home and beyond. From art classes and gardening clubs to day trips and movie nights, you'll make sure there's something for everyone.
- Social butterfly extraordinaire: Whether it's a lively game of bingo or a quiet chat over afternoon tea, you'll be the friendly face who connects residents and fosters a sense of belonging.
- More than just activities: You'll be a supportive companion, assisting with daily living like mealtimes and outings, and offering emotional support to those with cognitive impairment or mental health needs.
- Resident champion: Your voice matters You'll gather feedback through surveys and family conferences to ensure activities truly hit the mark.
- Team player: You'll collaborate with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan activities, document progress, and elevate any concerns.
- Hygiene hero: Keeping things clean and safe is essential. You'll follow infection control protocols and maintain a tidy environment.
- Catering crewmate: You'll lend a hand with plating and serving meals, adhering to food safety standards and monitoring resident preferences.
What we’re looking for:
- A heart of gold: Your passion for enriching lives is the most important qualification
- Can‑do spirit: You're flexible, adaptable, and always up for a challenge.
- Creative spark: You're brimming with ideas to make every day an adventure.
- Excellent communication: You connect easily with residents and colleagues, building trust and rapport.
- Team player: You collaborate effectively and support others with a smile.
- Previous experience in caring for elders within an Aged Care or community setting is essential.
- Current Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle or Individual Support or willingness to complete
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to get one)
- Australian driver's licence
