(Urgent Search) Senior Environmental Scientist, Contaminated Land

Overview

Senior Environmental Scientist, Contaminated Land – Perth, Western Australia. The role supports delivering strategic and practical solutions to clients facing environmental management challenges and contributes to developing contaminated land services and business growth. The position is based in Perth with flexible working arrangements, including option to work from home, staggered hours, and additional Purchased Leave.

Responsibilities

- Deliver preliminary and detailed contaminated land assessments, and prepare site management plans, remediation action plans, and other reports for external and internal clients.

- Lead and supervise investigations including soil, vapour, surface water, groundwater assessments and drilling programs.

- Prepare cost-effective, tailored fee proposals.

- Initiate, plan, lead and execute contaminated land and groundwater projects from start to finish.

- Engage with clients and internal disciplinary teams to determine innovative and pragmatic solutions to complex environmental problems.

- Analyse data and prepare clear and concise technical reports to a high standard.

- Support the learning and progression of junior staff within the team.

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering, Hydrogeology or Geology.

- A minimum of 5 years in contaminated land projects, with hydrogeology experience desirable.

- Demonstrated experience in site supervision and managing complex site investigations and various sampling methods (soil, groundwater).

- Strong knowledge of NEPM and contaminated land provisions within WA.

- Strong communication and report-writing skills.

- Strong business acumen to manage projects commercially (desirable but not essential).

- Valid/current driver’s licence and ability to travel to sites for field work.
