About the role:

Peabody is currently seeking Underground Electricians to join our Centurion underground mine, located 160 kilometres west of Mackay. For more information on Centurion visit (centurionmine.com.au)

We are actively recruiting now to build our crews, with onboarding scheduled for February/March 2025. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of our team from the start

Reporting to the Mine Manager, the scope of your new role will include:

- Carry out personal risk assessment, hazard identification, and other safety requirements relevant to the role.
- Work to "Best Practice" techniques to ensure that equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive, and reliable standard.
- Ensure all statutory inspections and maintenance tooling/safety equipment is maintained, and periodic calibrations/inspections are recorded.
- Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

This position is offered on a 7:7 day/night roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

About you:

- Trade qualifications and Queensland Electrical Licence.
- Minimum of 3 years in underground coal mining.
- Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas (EEHA) competencies.
- HV switching competency (would be advantageous).
- Ability to work effectively in a team, coupled with strong communication skills.
- Operation of underground equipment as required.
- A demonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a team are key requirements of the role.
- Commitment to high performance standards.

In addition to the above, you will have a genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification. You will be an exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
