Teacher – Year Coordinator
Position Type: Fixed Term – Full Time, 12 months (with possible extension or permanency). Salary: $85,610 – $124,016 per annum (pro‑rata) (SEA GA 2023).
About the School
Coodanup College, located in south‑eastern Mandurah, supports students in Years 7‑12. The college promotes high standards of achievement and behaviour, guided by the motto “Explore. Dream. Discover.” The school values learning, safety, fairness, pride, and support for Indigenous students through three academies.
The Role
The Year Coordinator serves as a visible, approachable leader in collaboration with Student Services Managers, teachers, support staff, and the wider community. The role focuses on fostering a safe, inclusive environment, designing and implementing initiatives that promote connection, inclusion, and a positive school culture, and supporting students across the social, emotional, behavioural, and academic spectrum.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead wellbeing initiatives and reward programs that celebrate student success.
- Apply restorative practices to resolve conflict and strengthen relationships.
- Coordinate key school events and support smooth daily operation of Student Services.
- Guide students through key transitions and help them prepare for life beyond school.
- Build trusted relationships with students, staff and families, demonstrating commitment to social, emotional and academic wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with the wider community to achieve the best outcomes for students.
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Hold a current teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the appointment.
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number.
- Experience or interest in trauma‑informed practice is highly valued.
- A background in professional learning and student services is desirable.
- 0.6 FTE teaching load.
