About the role

Located in Pinkenba, the L3Harris Integration and Sustainment Centre a multi-faceted maintenance support entity that provides the L3Harris Communications Australia programs with through life maintenance support. Within this facility, as a Team lead of the Maintenance Section, this role is responsible for trouble shooting, problem solving and repair in support of a large fleet of SATCOM terminals and associated equipment. Returning equipment to the user in a timely manner in a serviceable condition.

Use test instrumentation and equipment to perform fault diagnosis of digital and analogue assemblies in customer support environments. Provide technical support and guidance to Maintenance Team members. Support engineering functions as required. Use data collection tools to manage workflow and review failure trend analysis for contribution to continuous improvement programs. Provide customer support in regard to product diagnostics as required which may involve customer site visits.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

- Responsible for scheduling technical resources, personnel.
- Responsible for efficient and effective product diagnostics comprising RF, digital and analogue circuits.
- Responsible for accurate data collection associated with diagnostic findings and solutions.
- Provide feedback to management, engineers and peers regarding diagnostics, processes and tools.
- Provide assistance and coaching to peers to further strengthen team capabilities.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained through best practice.
- To ensure that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation.
- Provide direct customer support in relation to product diagnostics as required.
- Joint weekly reporting to management team.
- Inventory management and record keeping.

What you’ll bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

- Certificate III or higher in Electronics and Communications, or equivalent.
- Experience in Technical Maintenance of Satellite Communication and/or RF Communication equipment.
- Experience in RF, digital and analogue circuit diagnostics to module level.
- Experience in reading and interpreting technical information, engineering drawings and schematics.
- Ability to schedule and prioritise work when presented with challenging targets to meet customer requirements.
- Experience in conducting technical analysis, communicating findings, conclusions and recommendations.
- Experience in setting up and using test instrumentation to replicate Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) failures for diagnostics purposes.
- Strong understanding of Network Protocols
- Minimum 10 years prior relevant experience

Desirable

- Experience in leading a team.
- Experience in RF, digital and analogue circuit diagnostics to component level.
- Prior ADF experience in technical maintenance of communication equipment.
- Experience using the Defence ERP program.
