St Andrews Christian College is seeking a dedicated and passionate PE & Health Teacher to join our Primary and Secondary teams in Wantirna South. This full-time, permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a meaningful impact in the field of education. There is also an opportunity for the successful candidate to take on additional leadership roles, such as Primary Sports Coordinator and/or Head of PE & Health. The main responsibilities and tasks of the teaching role include: - Planning, preparing and delivering engaging and effective lessons across the secondary school curriculum. - Assessing and reporting on the progress of students, providing constructive feedback to support their development. - Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of diverse student abilities and backgrounds. - Collaborating with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and enhancement of teaching practices. - Participating in extracurricular activities, school events, and pastoral care duties as required. - Adhering to school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and child protection. The main responsibilities for the Head of Faculty role include: - Providing leadership and guidance to teaching staff within the designated year levels, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. - Developing and implementing curriculum plans, in line with College policies and educational standards, to enhance student learning outcomes. - Monitoring and evaluating student progress, implementing strategies to support individual learning needs and promote academic success. - Collaborating with colleagues to facilitate professional development opportunities and sharing best practices in teaching methodologies. - Contributing to the wider College community by participating in relevant meetings, events, and extracurricular activities. - Communicating effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, pastoral care, and behavioural matters. The ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, a passion for education, and a commitment to nurturing the holistic development of young people. A relevant teaching qualification and experience in a similar role are essential.
