Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III) – Early Learning Victoria

Overview

The Early Childhood Educator will support a team to deliver a high‑quality, play‑based early childhood education program. Guided by the National Quality Standards, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, and the National Education and Care Law, the role involves planning, implementing, and monitoring educational activities that foster children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the planning and delivery of integrated teaching and learning strategies tailored to individual child needs.

- Monitor and document children’s progress in accordance with the organisation’s philosophy and state regulations.

- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes respectful communication and conflict resolution.

- Collaborate with staff, families, and the wider community to support children’s wellbeing and development.

- Participate in reflective practice and continuous improvement of teaching practices.

- Ensure compliance with child safety and child protection policies and procedures.

Key Capabilities / Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated commitment to Child Safety and Compliance with evidence of relevant experience.

- Effective interpersonal Communication with staff, families, and children.

- Ability to create and maintain a Positive Learning Environment.

- Strong foundation in High Quality Practice aligned with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.

- Demonstrated personal attributes of the public sector values: responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

Qualifications and Experience

- ACECQA approved Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or actively working toward it).

- Valid Working With Children Check and willingness to undergo a Police Check.

- Commitment to complete mandatory reporting, first aid, CPR, and child safety training as required.

- Experience delivering a high‑quality play‑based educational program and working with vulnerable children and families is desirable.
