The Role

Join our engineering team to design, implement, and maintain advanced railway signalling and control systems. You’ll lead end-to-end signalling projects including system specification, installation, testing, and commissioning across rail corridors and stations.

Key Responsibilities

- Design ETCS signalling and interlocking systems using international and national rail standards
- Specify layouts for trackside signalling detection, ETCS balises, point machines, LED signals, communications, SCADA & radio.
- Develop system schematics, O&M documentation, risk assessments and design compliance reports.
- Lead FAT/SAT commissioning, support field teams during installation/integration phases.
- Interface with clients, host rail authorities, and stakeholders (e.g. Project Managers, Rolling Stock, Civil, Systems teams).
- Provide ongoing support for fault‑finding, upgrades and signalling maintenance improvements.

Essential Criteria

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated work experience (≥10 years) in ETCS rail signalling design and implementation.
- Strong understanding of signalling safety standards (e.g., CENELEC, IEC, ARTC, RTU).
- Proficient in signalling CAD tools, SCADA systems, and communication networks.
- Familiarity with railway standards including IEC62443, EN50701, EN50126, EN50128/ EN50716, EN50129 and Australian rail operator standards.
- Experience with systems assurance tools

Highly Desirable

- Experience working on Australian rail projects (Metro, Regional, Freight).
- Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or working towards.
