Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner - Indigenous – Fraser Coast, Queensland.

Employment Type: Permanent – Full-Time.

Location:Rostered between Maryborough, Hervey Bay and the mobile clinic that services the surrounding townships.

- Assisting in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of clients' healthcare needs

- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans

- Conducting health checks, screenings and immunisations

- Delivering health education and promotion programs to the community

- Maintaining accurate and confidential client records

- Advocating for the healthcare needs of the Indigenous community

- Participating in continuous professional development activities

Position Description:
Providing culturally appropriate and holistic healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients

Qualifications & Experience:

- Formal qualification as an Aboriginal Health Worker or Aboriginal Health Practitioner or working towards

- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the healthcare or community services sector

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients

- Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, health beliefs and practices

- Commitment to providing high-quality, culturally safe and client-centred healthcare

- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

- Strong organisational and time management skills

- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within the local area

After Hours Requirements: No

Salary Information:

- $26.83 - $40.00 per hour.

The location is in the Fraser Coast area in Maryborough, a Queensland regional town of 25,000 people. Well supported with Hospital and Specialist access. Maryborough offers a relaxed & enjoyable lifestyle close to the coast with a good choice of schools & shopping. It is close to Hervey Bay (30 mins), two hours to Sunshine Coast and three hours north of Brisbane.
