The Role

As an Occupational Therapist in the NDIS sector, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the independence and quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Make a difference that matters, as you collaborate with a dedicated team and engage with the latest advancements in assistive technology.

Whether it's adapting living spaces to suit unique needs or facilitating functional capacity assessments to tailor support plans, your expertise will empower individuals to unlock their full potential.

- Assessment and prescription of assistive technology and/or home modifications to facilitate independence, safety and well-being.
- Functional capacity assessments.
- Conducting home assessments, schools based work and onsite appointments at our Experience Centre in Nedlands.
- Consult with and advise customers, carers, health professionals, stakeholders and service providers on assistive technology, equipment, home modifications.
- Contributing to the development of the service, raise opportunities for innovation and ensure clinical best practice in service delivery.
- Prepare professional reports and equipment funding applications with consideration to relevant standards and providing clinical reasoning and recommendations on assistive technology, home modifications and related therapy services.
- Researching and reviewing assistive technology including supplier liaison, trial of equipment and researching evidence-based best practice.
- Providing assistive technology education and training to external stakeholders as required.

The Candidate

We are seeking a candidate who brings valuable experience to our team, particularly in the realms of assistive technology assessment and prescription. The right candidate will have:

- A passion for providing person centred supports.
- A strong interest and desire to develop skills regarding AT assessment and prescription.
- Knowledge of and willingness to up-skill in home modification assessment.
- NDIS sector knowledge, advanced interpersonal, presentational and communication skills.
- Experience working with people with disabilities and/or experience with Assistive Technologies.
- Advanced ICT skills (including use of databases and Microsoft Office suite applications).
- The ability to work with individuals, care givers, health professionals and other staff within a consultative and collaborative environment to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
- Current registration with AHPRA.
