About the Role

As an Electrical Technician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing instrumentation, communications, and monitoring systems across the Western Harbour Tunnel and Sydney Harbour Tunnel. Your work will ensure the reliability and safety of critical tunnel systems — from lighting and ventilation to fire protection and traffic monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform maintenance, testing, and repairs on electrical and mechanical tunnel systems, including:

- Control, communications, lighting, ventilation, and air monitoring

- Signage, power, fire protection, security, traffic monitoring, toll collection, and pump systems

- Calibrate and set up equipment and instrumentation across tunnels and ancillary structures

- Identify and report faults down to component level

- Maintain accurate records and prepare maintenance reports as required

Requirements

- Electrical trade qualification

- Experience with electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and communication systems — particularly Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)

- Previous work with traffic signals, underground power installations, and ITS/communication systems highly regarded

- Sound computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel)

- Ability to learn and use systems such as Asset Vision and Team Binder

- Current NSW Driver’s Licence (MR or higher)

- Confined Space Entry and EWP (Elevated Work Platform) tickets

- Construction White Card
