Join us in making a difference The Position Based in the Northern suburbs, the Occupational Therapy Assistant provides therapeutic group and individual programs and performs delegated client treatment plans under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist. This is a permanent part-time role offering 65 hours per fortnight, working Monday – Friday 09:00 – 14:00. Key Responsibilities - Supports the occupational therapist in implementing the occupational therapy program according to the care plan. - Enhances the quality of life and independence of residents/clients by implementing therapeutic group activities as directed by the occupational therapist. - Participates in therapy meetings and in organizing activities and events for residents based on their interests and preferences. - Assists day-to-day management of therapy equipment on site, including equipment cleaning and stock ordering. - Observes client responses to treatment programs and reports findings to the clinical team. - Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with the clinical team. - Works within the limits of own knowledge and ability and promptly refers problems or concerns to the clinical team or manager, including any deterioration of an individual. - Supports the rights, interests and needs of the care recipient. - Identifies and utilises opportunities to use the strengths of the individual to promote independence during daily activities such as personal hygiene and mealtimes. - Supports the management/clinical team to maintain accreditation compliance with the quality standards. - Complies with Amana Living policies and procedures; contributes to continuous improvement systems. - Attends and actively participates in compulsory training sessions and meetings. About the Role As a member of the OTA Permanent Pool NOR, flexibility is essential to meet clinical needs across various sites. The flexibility arrangement indicates a centralized pool of workers who can be assigned to multiple locations within a cluster of sites NOR. These arrangements typically provide greater flexibility for both employees and employers. Your rostered shift may occasionally change on the day based on operational needs. No Fixed Site Assignment: Employees are not permanently based at a single site. They are deployed to different locations within a predefined group of sites as needed. You may be required to work at different sites within your contracted hours to address clinical requirements. Expectations from Employees: Flexibility to adapt to different sites, workflows, and team dynamics. Capability to quickly integrate into new environments while maintaining productivity. Essential Criteria - Evidence of COVID-19 and current influenza vaccinations per Amana Living policies. - Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6 months validity). - Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference checks. - Knowledge of the resident classification scale, accreditation and continuous improvement. - NDIS clearance (or willingness to obtain). - Willingness to attend 4 days paid induction at our Rivervale Training Institute.
