Unique locations, friendly communities and regional, rural and remote incentives are part of the environment at North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS).
Long‑term employees receive:
- Isolation bonus: $3,500 for 1 year, $10,500 for 2 years, and $7,000 for each subsequent year (pro‑rata for part‑time).
- Return airfare: 2 per year for full‑time, 1 per year for part‑time (includes spouse/dependents).
- Incentive payment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners: up to $5,000 after 12 months (pro‑rata for part‑time).
- Employer superannuation: 12.75%
- Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accruals.
- Tax savings via salary sacrificing options.
About the role
We are seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander professional passionate about bringing lived experience into practice. As a Health Practitioner, you will deliver and coordinate high‑quality, patient and family‑centred care, ensuring safety and empowering First Nations women throughout their pregnancy journey.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with women and families to provide compassionate antenatal care.
- Deliver culturally appropriate health services across Burketown and surrounding First Nation communities.
- Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to empower First Nations women during pregnancy.
- Maintain professional standards and cultural safety in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Genuine occupational requirement: applicants must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice) and Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health.
- Current registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner with AHPRA.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre‑employment screening includes criminal history and vaccination evidence for Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
