Underground Diesel Fitter – Cook Colliery, Blackwater

Downunder Group Solutions is seeking experienced Underground Diesel Fitters for shutdown and maintenance work at Cook Colliery in Blackwater. If you have underground coal experience and are looking to join a supportive and professional team, we encourage you to apply.

Position Details:

• Roster: 7/7 rotating day/night shift

• Pay Rate: $85 per hour (paid weekly)

• Travel Options: FIFO from Brisbane to Emerald or DIDO

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct scheduled servicing, minor rebuilds, and preventative maintenance on underground machinery.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults efficiently.

• Ensure work is completed on time while meeting safety and quality standards.

• Perform shutdown and maintenance tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Australian Recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate

• DES Certificate (Diesel Engine Systems for Underground Coal Mines)

• Brake Testing Competency (AURKTB002 & AURKTB005)

• Underground Coal Experience (board and pillar advantageous)

• Strong technical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills

• Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)

• Underground Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
