The Role

Based in our Support Office in Malvern, we have a great opportunity for a driven and analytical Merchandise Allocator to join our team

This role sits within the Planning team and is responsible for managing daily stock operations, ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time to maximise sales. You’ll also play a key role in supporting sales and stock performance through analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Ensure stock levels are maintained by monitoring and replenishing stock levels in our DC and stores for both indent and BSR/Replenishment lines in conjunction with the Planning Manager

Maintain system stock allocation software including replenishment parameters

Ensure deliveries are within agreed time frames into stores

Reporting of any known stock shortages / surpluses upon delivery into stores

Manage the replenishment system at a style and size level in conjunction with the Planning Manager

Ensure adequate stock levels for new store openings

Conduct monthly reviews of in store stock levels against DC stock levels in conjunction with the Planning Manager

Analyse stock on hand reporting to determine which items need to be consolidated

Liaise with retail stores to confirm receipt of stock

Ensure that company transfer policies & procedures are adhered to

Produce & run regular and ad hoc retail reporting including best sellers, markdowns, catalogue & promotion

Constant monitoring of sales and stock quantities at store level to achieve optimum stock on hand levels

Load all markdown price changes and produce relevant reporting

Create and maintain retail promotions in AP21 (company ERP)

Manage timing, process & logistics of the stock take function for all stores and DC

Conduct periodic stock takes when required in retail stores and DC in conjunction with the Merchandise team

Demonstrate stock taking procedures to retail sales team and Regional Managers

Manage stock take variance reporting to balance book and count quantities

Update stock levels in proprietary system and produce variance reporting at finalisation of stock take

You will have:

Relevant tertiary or related qualifications are preferred

2-3 years’ experience allocating within a retail environment

Highly developed analytical and practical skills and a quick study in new systems

Proficient to intermediate skills in Excel

Willingness to launch and streamline new and existing procedures and systems

Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal to team members at all levels.

Highly organised, detailed and focused approach to work and deadlines

Ability to think laterally on all issues and take a proactive approach to resolve them

A positive and proactive 'can do' attitude

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
