About the Job

As an Employment Consultant, you will use your skills to support and guide clients to attain suitable, meaningful employment opportunities that lead to sustainable employment outcomes. You will use your customer service skills to build rapport with your clients, assist them on their employment journey, and to overcome barriers to employment. The Fairfield area is recognized for its rich cultural diversity, with a significant population of refugees encountering various language and cultural barriers. Proficiency in the local languages is not only advantageous but essential for effective communication and support. In the Fairfield region, Arabic is widely spoken. Adopting language diversity will enhance our ability to connect with and assist the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders as part of managing the referral & intake process of job seekers into their chosen program with MatchWorks.
- Assessment of job seeker skills, abilities, identification of barriers, and intervention strategies.
- In consultation with our job seekers, develop and maintain work preparation strategies, job seeking strategies, tailored interventions (including other service providers), and employment support activities.
- Reverse marketing of job seekers to achieve sustainable employment opportunities.
- Provide pre-employment assistance through vocational counselling, training, job search skills, and work trials/work experience to increase capacity for employment.

Skills & Experience

You are self-driven, resilient, hungry to succeed & experienced in Customer Service (Retail, Hospitality or other), you love a challenge, fast-paced and have the ability to move agilely through your to-do list. Experience within the Employment Services sector is not essential, we have a strong induction and support network to help you succeed.

Key Requirements:

- Strong Communication skills, attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use computer systems, excellent data accuracy & note-taking.
- Build rapport, grow & maintain relationships with clients, peers, & job seekers.
- Enjoy achieving KPI’s – we aren’t selling cars; we are securing meaningful work for vulnerable individuals.
- Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening check or are willing to obtain one.

Benefits & Culture

As a part of genU, MatchWorks is a group of passionate, driven people who want everyone’s lives to be happier and healthier, especially people with disabilities, the ageing and those experiencing disadvantage.
