Position Summary:

The Software Engineer designs and develops software applications. They perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. The Engineer mentors other Software Engineers and collaborates with other functional groups to conduct software design reviews.

As a Software Engineer at Pax8, you will be working on the Marketplace Platform in the core services team. You will be focused on invoicing, billing management, and other marketplace concepts in the APAC region, working collectively with the wider global Engineering team. Our stack includes Java, Kotlin, Groovy, Springboot, VueJS, and AWS.

This role is based in the Brisbane CBD and can be hybrid or remote, depending on preference.

Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

1. Designs, develops, and codes new application features.
2. Debugs, tests, and troubleshoots applications throughout the development process.
3. Modifies and codes software systems.
4. Analyses potential problems and finds solutions to pressing issues.
5. Mentors other Software Engineers.

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

- Strong experience in software development, especially with Java/Kotlin, Groovy, and Vue/ReactJS, in various industries or projects.
- Effective problem solver, able to critically analyse problems and offer solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
- Interest or experience in utilising AI technology in code development/review (CoPilot, Cursor, etc.).
- Ability to work with business or technology stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ability to work within a team and immerse yourself in the organisation's overall culture.
