Ventia is looking for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our Defence contract team in a full-time, permanent role. Based in Rockingham or East Fremantle, with regular travel to Defence bases across WA, you'll play a key role in providing leadership, advice, and support to maintain compliance and drive operational excellence at all WA Defence sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement and monitor Safety Management Plans and ensure compliance with SHEQ policies
2. Conduct audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards
3. Investigate safety incidents, identifying root causes and providing corrective actions
4. Facilitate training and inductions, fostering a culture of safety across the team
5. Conduct internal and external audits and support continuous improvement programs
6. Partner with leadership to ensure compliance with contractual KPIs and non-conformance management
About You:
1. Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental, or Quality Assurance
2. Lead Auditor or incident investigation qualifications (ICAM preferred)
3. 2+ years of experience in safety, environmental, and quality roles, ideally within construction or infrastructure
4. Strong knowledge of SHEQ legislation and regulatory requirements
5. Proven experience in risk management, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
6. Ability to effectively mentor and influence internal and external stakeholders
