Abra Mining Pty Ltd is located approximately 220 km north of Meekatharra, in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The underground mine represents one of the world's cleanest and largest lead‑silver projects.

Join Our Growing Team

We're seeking a Mine Geologist to join our dynamic operations team. If you're passionate about geology and want to be part of a workplace that values its people, this is your opportunity.

We are ideally seeking a Graduate Mine Geologist with 1‑2 years relevant experience. In this role you will undertake underground mine geology activities under supervision, including but not limited to grade control (face mapping and face sampling, core logging), geological modelling, and assist in the planning and implementation of drilling programs. You will be trained and mentored on core processing, logging, and sampling.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Delivering geological support to the operation to ensure safe and efficient production.

- Face mapping and sampling.

- Assisting with the design of and supervise grade control drilling programs to accurately delineate the orebody ahead of mining.

- Core processing, logging and sampling.

- Liaising with the Processing Team and provide ore stockpile management to optimise the blend into the Process Plant.

- Monitoring drilling programmes and contractors to ensure maximum efficiency and performance.

- Championing workplace safety and fostering a positive safety culture.

What you'll bring

- Bachelor's degree in Science, Geology, or Applied Geology or a similar field.

- 1‑2 years relevant experience.

- Current C class Western Australian driver's licence.

- 4x4 wheel drive competency.

You have an awareness of the Mines Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations, a good understanding of ore‑forming processes and 3D modelling techniques. You have a demonstrated background in data management and validation processes. Your colleagues would describe you as a collaborative and genuine team player. You bring a positive attitude and a can‑do approach to every shift, and you are committed to going home safely every day.
