Melbourne Polytechnic is recruiting volunteer tutors for the Melbourne Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) Volunteer Tutor Scheme (VTS). You will need to be a resident of Victoria and aged 18 or over to express interest in this role.
The Melbourne AMEP covers the following regions: North West, North East, South East, Inner metropolitan Melbourne and regional Bendigo.
Volunteering as a tutor gives you the opportunity to:
- help refugees and migrants learn English and become part of the Australian community
- meet people from a wide range of backgrounds
- learn about other languages and cultures
- become part of a dynamic and committed volunteer team
One to one tutoring with a volunteer takes place via digital and mobile phone platforms such as Zoom, FaceTime and WhatsApp Video calls or face to face in a public setting.
No previous experience in teaching is required.

Training
Training is 100% online, engaging and free. Ongoing training and information is offered via the newsletter, the VTS Facebook group and online workshops throughout the activity.
