About the role
This is a permanent full-time opportunity for a Leading Hand / Driver based in Coolaroo VIC. In this role, you will lead by example to ensure the team achieves its objectives, overseeing workplace health & safety, KPI performance, and operational standards.

You’ll work Monday to Friday, with early starts between 1am–2am, and report directly to the Operations Manager. On top of that, we’re offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Key responsibilities

- Assist in the safe and cost-effective delivery of waste and recycling collection services
- Supervise Drivers/Operators to ensure KPI targets and service standards are met
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, drivers, and sub-contractors
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment
- Allocate work efficiently to maximize productivity and cost control
- Ensure daily operations run smoothly and effectively
- Review and manage Driver run sheets and be prepared to cover daily runs in cases of leave or absence.

What you will bring

- Proven supervisory or team leader experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Current HR license
- Experience operating Rear lift, Front lift, and Hook lift trucks
- Prior experience in the waste industry
- Strong understanding of cost control and subcontractor management
- Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
- IT literacy
