The Role

We currently have a full-time opportunity in our Maintenance team for a Fitter on afternoon shift. This role is a permanent full-time opportunity, working Monday to Friday from 2:30pm - 11:00pm.

Purpose of the Role

- Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity in a safe manner
- Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to communicate equipment status, particularly during shift changes
- Maintain safety and compliance standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency
- Work with the Maintenance Manager and Supervisors to conduct root cause analysis on failures and ensure follow up on identified actions
- Maintain all registers, logs and systems to track repairs, notifications and work activities
- Develop and maintain close and collaborative working relationships across the Maintenance, Production, Planning and Engineering teams

About You

- Minimum Certificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
- A safety mindset with a strong commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others
- Can work and communicate well in a team environment
- Sound understanding of reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance systems and techniques
- Sound knowledge of high-speed packaging equipment, bearings, seals, shaft repair, conveying systems, etc
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
- Great organisational and time management skills
- Able to work independently, with minimal supervision
