We are a successful civil contracting business who has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world‑class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.
As a progressive, leading civil engineering firm built on the strong foundations of our unique history, we engage, enable and empower our people to be better. With you, we are altogether stronger, in building the future we want.
We are seeking a skilled Site Engineer to oversee and coordinate construction engineering functions across assigned disciplines.
About the role:
- Lead work teams in the field, fostering collaboration and verifying subcontractor claims to keep everyone aligned and accountable.
- Champion safety and quality on‑site by proactively managing risks and ensuring every structure meets top standards.
- Drive project progress by tracking daily productivity, controlling costs, and keeping programs on schedule for seamless delivery.
- Master procurement and finance systems, making sure every purchase follows governance requirements and supports project goals.
- Stay ahead of the curve by updating your skills, completing competency reviews, and applying the latest industry standards and innovations.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- On‑site experience in civil engineering or construction.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to create and manage critical path networks and production charts.
- Knowledge of safety legislation, Australian Standards, and contract management.
We have a range of additional benefits available for our employees:
- Health & Wellbeing – discounted health insurance, seasonal vaccinations, wellness discounts, fertility benefit and employee assistance program (EAP).
- Time for life / Work life balance – birthday leave, purchased leave program, paid parental leave and flexible work arrangements.
- Financial wellbeing – competitive remuneration, annual performance bonuses, salary continuance insurance and employee share program.
- Career development – training, mentoring programs, and leadership development program.
Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have their own transport.
Seymour Whyte is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, including veterans. Our commitment to an equitable construction industry extends to an inclusive culture that embraces our differences and gives everyone the opportunity to grow and be equally valued.
