Join the Tech Foundations team at Optus as an Associate Director, Technical Product Management, where you'll lead the engineering and operation of our Internet Presence platform—a mission-critical capability that enables product teams to safely and securely expose APIs and applications to the internet.
This platform plays a vital role in protecting our customers' data and ensuring secure, scalable, and seamless digital experiences. You'll be responsible for shaping the platform's roadmap, driving engineering excellence, and partnering closely with Cyber, Digital, and Engineering teams to continuously evolve its capabilities.
What you'll do
- Lead the product strategy, engineering, and operations of the Internet Presence platform.
- Partner with internal customers—developers, product teams, and engineering leaders—to understand their needs and improve their experience.
- Drive adoption of modern, secure-by-design practices across internet-facing applications and APIs.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes and amplify value through automation and modern technologies.
- Apply a product mindset to platform evolution, balancing customer needs, security, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Cyber, Digital, and IT to align on priorities and outcomes.
What makes You a great fit
- Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, Technical Lead, or Principal Engineer.
- Strong technical competency in APIs, WAFs, API Gateways, and secure engineering practices.
- Familiarity with risk and control frameworks such as CIS or NIST, and the ability to communicate security considerations clearly.
- A passion for product thinking, with a focus on building sustainable, scalable, and secure platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
