Dental Assistant and Receptionist

Your Responsibilities:
- Open and close the clinic
- Manage the day-to-day operations at reception ensuring the office area is neat and tidy at all times
- Greet and welcome patients arriving for appointments
- Answer calls and enquiries in a friendly and professional manner
- Oversee patient relations and handle complaints in a calm manner
- Review supplies and provide orders to Clinicians
- Confirm appointments for the next day
- Schedule and book follow-up appointments over the phone and in person
- Collect payments at the time of the appointment
- Arrange patient referrals and ensure all details are correctly stored
- Arrange patient files, referrals and radiographs for the next day's appointments
- Prepare patients for non-surgical and surgical procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and set up instrument tray
- Assist with dental procedures
- Assist the clinicians in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary
- Record treatment information in patient records
- Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the clinicians
Ideally you will have:
- Working experience within a Dental Clinic
- Excellent customer service experience
- A Cert III in Dental Assisting (Cert is essential, lower than 3 is negotiable)
- Great initiative with a can-do attitude
- The ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment and not get squeamish when assisting in dental procedures
- Experience with a Dental/Medical database is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work full time, hours are from 7:15am to 5:00pm weekdays only
