Job Title: General Practitioner – Babinda, Queensland.

Hours: Permanent - Full Time

Practice Information:
Established in 2019, this practice was set up as a sister location to their main practice which has been operating for about 40 years. The practice currently has 3 GPs who work on a roster basis. You'll be supported by full-time nursing support and a wonderful administration team. The practice is open Monday to Friday 8:15 am to 5:15 pm and caters to a wide variety of patients stemming from an agricultural and farming community. One of the Practice Principles has an interest in Skin Cancer and therefore does a lot of procedural work. There is also a high number of ATSI. The practice is mixed billing.

Position Details:
The role will include broad primary health care in a rural setting, including paediatric, youth, adult and aged care health, immunisation, general medicine, shared ante and postnatal care, travel and tourist medicine, employment medicals, mental health, minor injuries, chronic pain, preventive health checks, extended primary care, indigenous healthcare, and chronic disease management. The practice offers primary care in a large and well-equipped facility.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery
2. Current AHPRA Registration
3. Minimum of 3 years medical work experience
4. Current working rights in Australia

Salary Information:
Percentage of billings.

About Babinda:
Babinda is located 60 kilometres (37 mins) south of Cairns. The town is noted for its proximity to Queensland's two highest mountains, Mount Bartle Frere (Queensland's highest peak) and Mount Bellenden Ker. The area is incredibly tropical and is where some of our prime bananas are grown. Crystal clear mountain streams, pristine rainforests, and spectacular waterfalls portray Babinda as a hidden paradise. Schooling is fantastic both locally and in Cairns, as is the potential for employment opportunities if you are relocating with your family.
