Join our vibrant team as a Wellbeing Carer at Bupa Coburg care home.

Responsibilities

- Be the fun facilitator: Help residents explore their interests, both within the care home and beyond. From art classes and gardening clubs to day trips and movie nights, you will ensure there is something for everyone.
- Social butterfly extraordinaire: Be the friendly face who connects residents and fosters a sense of belonging through activities like games, chats, and social events.
- More than just activities: Provide supportive companionship, assist with daily living (mealtimes, outings), and offer emotional support to residents with cognitive impairment or mental health needs.
- Resident champion: Gather feedback through surveys and family conferences to ensure activities meet residents' needs and preferences.
- Team player: Collaborate with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan activities, document progress, and escalate concerns as needed.
- Hygiene and safety: Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control protocols.
- Catering support: Lend a hand with plating and serving meals, adhering to food safety standards and monitoring resident preferences.

Qualifications and requirements

- Can-do spirit: Flexible, adaptable, and ready for a challenge.
- Creative spark: Bring ideas to make every day an adventure.
- Excellent communication: Connect easily with residents and colleagues, building trust and rapport.
- Team player: Collaborate effectively and support others with a smile.
- Experience: Previous experience in caring for elders within an aged care or community setting is essential.
- First Aid: First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Driver's license: Australian driver's license preferred.
